Dogs come to Allegiant K9 with different training needs, from pulling on leash and inconsistent recall to difficulty staying focused around distractions. Our Board & Train program is a four-week program that gives your dog consistent, structured training while staying onsite with us in Grandview.
Board & Train is different from regular boarding. Boarding provides your dog with a safe place to stay while you’re away, while Board & Train is a dedicated four-week training program focused on specific obedience and behavioral goals. Throughout the program, we work directly with your dog to build better communication, reinforce commands, and address the training priorities established before their stay.
A private training session is required prior to enrollment in our Board & Train program. This allows us to personally evaluate your dog, discuss your training goals, and determine the most appropriate training plan for you and your dog.
If you choose to move forward with Board & Train following the session, the full cost of your private session will be credited toward the Board & Train program.

How Training Progresses During Boarding
During the four-week Board & Train program, your dog receives consistent, hands-on training based on their starting point, temperament, and individual goals. Training may focus on leash manners, recall, basic obedience, impulse control, distraction management, appropriate boundaries, and other behavioral concerns discussed during the required private session.
Training takes place in different environments and around appropriate distractions to help your dog learn to respond consistently outside of a single controlled setting. We adjust our approach based on how your dog learns and responds while maintaining clear expectations throughout the program.
When your dog returns home, your involvement becomes an important part of maintaining what they have learned. We review trained commands, communication techniques, and expectations with you so you understand how to continue reinforcing the same structure at home. The goal is not simply to train your dog for four weeks, but to give you the tools to continue that training once your dog is back with you.
Unlike standard boarding, where the primary purpose is providing care and accommodations while you are away, Board & Train is centered around training throughout your dog’s four-week stay. Dogs enrolled in the program receive an individualized training approach based on the goals established during their private session.

How long does a typical Board & Train program last?
Allegiant K9’s Board & Train program is four weeks. Your dog stays onsite during the program and receives consistent training based on the goals discussed during your private training session.Program duration depends entirely on training goals—basic obedience foundations for young dogs may require two weeks, while behavioral correction for established problem patterns or advanced command sequences often extend to four weeks or longer based on progress assessments.
What happens if my dog doesn't progress as quickly as expected?
Every dog learns differently. We adjust our training approach based on your dog’s temperament, responses, and individual needs throughout the four-week program. Your required private session also helps us evaluate your dog beforehand and establish appropriate training goals.
Can you address aggression or reactivity issues during Board & Train?
Behavioral concerns such as aggression or reactivity need to be evaluated individually. The required private training session allows us to personally assess your dog and determine whether Board & Train is appropriate for their specific behavior and training needs.
